Paloma Faith returns with the release of her new single from her forthcoming third album A Perfect Contradiction.
Its a soulful, funky, upbeat track with heaps of attitude and a strong vocal performance from one of the UK’s finest and unique female vocalists.
One to never disappoint, Paloma throws herself into the character of a woman scorned by her unreliable lover. “You got that good stuff, but that don’t last. Ain’t good enough for me”, she sings.
With a distinct American soul feel, its not surprising to learn that the track was written and produced by Pharrell Williams, who achieved worldwide acclaim as the frontman in N.E.R.D. and more recently as a solo artist in his own right. He also appears as a backing vocalist on the track.
As expected Paloma can take a song, regardless of genre and carry it off with grace, charisma and her characteristic individual style. You can hear all her early soul influences within this record, mixed with a modern twist. Without a doubt this single whets our appetite for what is sure to be another well-crafted album release for her later this year.
