A Record of Poetic Excellence
Since its founding, Agenda has been one of the most respected poetry journals in the English-speaking world. Over the decades, it has provided a platform for both established and emerging poets, translators, and critics, while maintaining its long-standing commitment to serious literary and artistic standards.

The journal has published landmark issues exploring themes of contemporary and translated poetry, critical essays, and tributes to poets who have shaped modern literature. Across generations, Agenda has remained true to its guiding vision — to foster poetic dialogue across cultures and celebrate the enduring value of the written word.

Following the publication of Volume 55 Nos. 3–4: Stepping Stones (2023), an announcement was made regarding a planned transition of the journal’s editorship to the University of St Andrews. However, in the wake of the death of Professor John Burnside, the University confirmed that it would not be taking the editorship forward.

Today, Agenda continues to be published under the Agenda Magazine Educational Charitable Trust, based in Mayfield, East Sussex, England. The archive below preserves the journal’s distinguished publishing record and its lasting contribution to poetry and literary scholarship.
